Director: Tommy Young, Master Falconer, Ornithologist

The almost 3-acre Arkansas Native Plant and Wildlife Center was founded by Tommy Young for his injured animals while they are recovering.  The Center is also equipped for breeding and serves as an educational center for visitors.

Although the Center is still under construction, plans are to have it completed by April 2010 in time for the spring influx of injured and orphaned animal babies.

Tommy has been studying birds, animals and reptiles since he was 14 years old.  He earned a degree in ornithology from Cornell University and holds all credentials required by the federal government and the state of Arkansas to be an animal rehabilitator.

The Center receives no funds from local, state or federal government agencies, and is totally dependent on donations of supporters.

Tommy is dependent on and very appreciative of, a number of volunteers who help him tend the animals at the center.

As a Master Falconer, Tommy
also breeds hawks, trains them
to hunt  and survive, then re-
leases them back into the wild.
